Servicing your 3GM or 3GM30
Parts commonly replaced during servicing include:

Pay attention to the cooling system
Some 3GM engines are cooled directly by seawater, while models with an F in the model designation normally use freshwater cooling and a heat exchanger. This affects pumps, thermostats, hoses, gaskets and other
marine-engine cooling parts.
Check the impeller regularly and make sure cooling water is flowing correctly. Restricted water flow can cause overheating and more expensive engine damage.
Check the complete engine model
The 3GM family includes many versions, such as the 3GM, 3GMF, 3GMD, 3GM30, 3GM30F, 3GM30V, 3GM30VE and several YEU versions.
Not every part fits every version. Check the complete model designation on the engine plate and compare the original part number before ordering. If you’re unsure, send us the engine model, serial number and a photo or number from the old part.
