Volvo Penta belts for service and replacement
A worn or loose belt can cause charging problems, overheating or loss of drive to an engine accessory. Here you’ll find Volvo Penta V-belts and multi-rib belts for alternators, circulation pumps, power steering pumps and superchargers.
We supply genuine Volvo Penta belts as well as suitable aftermarket alternatives for selected applications. Available belts cover many older and newer engines, including the Volvo Penta 2001, 2002 and 2003, MD2010 through MD2040, D1 and D2 series, D3, D4, D6, KAD and KAMD models.
Choosing the correct Volvo Penta belt
Do not select a belt by its appearance or approximate measurements alone. Two belts can look almost identical but differ in length, width, rib pattern or intended position on the engine.
Start by checking the Volvo Penta number printed on the old belt. If that number is no longer readable, use the complete engine model and serial number to identify the correct replacement. Some engines use more than one belt, so also check whether you need the alternator belt, circulation-pump belt, power-steering belt or supercharger belt.
The product page shows the known engine applications and corresponding part numbers. Always compare this information with the belt you are replacing.
Check belts during regular servicing
Inspect the belts for cracks, frayed edges, glazing and signs of oil contamination. A belt that squeals, slips or needs frequent adjustment may be worn or incorrectly tensioned. The pulleys and tensioning parts should also be checked before fitting a new belt.
When carrying out a regular service, you may also need
Volvo Penta service kits,
oil filters,
fuel filters or
impellers.
Not sure which belt you need?
Send us the complete engine model, serial number and any number still visible on the old belt. A clear photo of the belt and its position on the engine can also help us identify the correct part.
