The Volvo Penta Pencil Anode Magnesium With Plug 832989 is supplied as a complete unit , consisting of a magnesium pencil anode and a brass threaded plug. This assembly is designed to provide maximum protection against galvanic corrosion in freshwater environments , where magnesium is the most effective anode material. Magnesium anodes offer a higher electrochemical activity than zinc, making them the preferred choice for use in lakes, rivers, and other low-conductivity waters. The integrated 1/2″ BSPT (gasconico) brass plug ensures secure installation and reliable electrical contact in cooling systems and other internal marine applications. Material Anode: Magnesium Plug: Brass Part Number 832989 Thread 1/2″ BSPT (Gasconico) Dimensions Diameter (Ø): 15.5 mm Length (L): 40.0 mm Dimension (C): 13.0 mm Key Features Complete magnesium pencil anode supplied with brass plug Maximum corrosion protection in freshwater Secure 1/2″ BSPT threaded installation Precision-manufactured for correct fitment Direct replacement for part number 832989 Regular inspection and timely replacement of magnesium pencil anodes helps maintain effective corrosion protection and prevents damage to internal marine system components.
