Sensors and switches
A faulty sensor can cause an incorrect warning, missing gauge reading, starting problem or engine fault. Here you’ll find sensors and switches for temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure, boost pressure, exhaust temperature, engine speed, position and fuel level.
The category currently includes parts for Volvo Penta, Yanmar and Vetus. Sensors for Nanni, Solé, Perkins, Bukh and other brands will also appear here when available.

instrument panels and displays. Electronic faults may also involve a
control unit, MDI or ECU.
Check more than the sensor name
“Temperature sensor” or “oil-pressure switch” is not enough to identify the correct part. Different sensors can use the same type of connection while providing a different signal or operating at a different pressure or temperature.
Before ordering, compare:
- The original part number
- The complete engine model and version
- The connector shape and number of pins
- The thread size
- Any numbers or markings on the old sensor
- The location where the sensor is fitted
Some engines use both a sensor and a separate warning switch. One may supply a reading to the gauge or control unit, while the other operates a warning light or alarm. Make sure you are replacing the correct one.
Check the wiring before replacing a sensor
A fault code or incorrect reading does not always mean the sensor itself has failed. Damaged wiring, loose plugs, corrosion, a poor ground connection or low system voltage can cause similar problems. Check the connector and wiring before fitting a new part.
When replacing a sensor connected to an electronic control system, do not choose a part only because it has the same thread or plug. The signal must also match the control unit and instrument panel.
Can’t find the sensor for your Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Vetus, Nanni, Solé, Perkins, Bukh or another brand? Search using the part number or send us the engine model, serial number and clear photos of the old sensor and connector.
