These engines have been used in many sailing yachts and smaller motorboats. Although GM engines share some parts, you should not assume that a part for a 1GM, 2GM or 3GM will fit another model.
Service and repair parts
For regular maintenance, you may need an oil filter, fuel filter, impeller, drive belt, anode, gasket or seal. Service kits are also available when you want the main maintenance parts together.
For larger repairs, you’ll also find seawater pumps, circulation pumps, thermostats, engine mounts, fuel parts, exhaust elbows, starter motors, alternators and internal engine parts. Depending on the item, you can choose from genuine Yanmar parts and good aftermarket alternatives.
Check the complete engine model
The full model name is important. The GM range includes versions such as the 1GM10, 2GMF, 2GM20F, 3GM30F and other variants. Some engines are directly seawater cooled, while others use a closed freshwater cooling system. This affects which pumps, thermostats, gaskets and cooling parts you need.
Check the identification plate for the complete engine model and serial number. Compare the number on the old part with the references on the product page whenever possible.
