Impellers
The impeller in the seawater pump draws cooling water into the engine. Because its flexible rubber blades are always moving inside the pump housing, the impeller gradually wears and needs to be replaced as part of regular engine maintenance.
Here you’ll find individual impellers and complete impeller kits for Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Vetus, Nanni, Solé, Craftsman and other marine engines. Depending on the product, a kit may also contain a gasket, O-ring or lubricant. Check the product description to see exactly what is included.

Choosing the correct impeller
Search using the original engine or pump part number whenever possible. You can often find this number in the engine manual, pump documentation or parts catalogue. The number on the old impeller may also help, although it is not always still readable.
Do not choose an impeller by diameter alone. The width, shaft diameter, shaft shape and number of blades also need to be correct. Some engines were fitted with different seawater pumps during their production, so the engine model on its own may not always be enough.
If you are unsure, send us the complete engine model, serial number and any numbers visible on the pump or old impeller. A clear photo of the impeller and pump cover can help us identify the right replacement.
Check the impeller regularly
Follow the replacement interval given by the engine or pump manufacturer. It is also sensible to inspect the impeller before the boating season and after the engine has been run without cooling water.
Bent, cracked, hardened or missing blades are signs that the impeller should be replaced. If pieces have broken away, check the cooling system downstream of the pump. Fragments can become trapped in hoses, oil coolers or heat exchangers and reduce the flow of cooling water.
Before closing the pump, inspect the gasket or O-ring and check the pump cover for wear. Never allow the seawater pump to run dry after fitting the new impeller.
